CRUSHED-STONE CLEANING MACHINE Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: railway track repair and maintenance equipment. SUBSTANCE: this is intended for cleaning crushed-stone ballast of railway track from various impurities. Machine has frame installed on railway trucks. Mounted on frame are two ballast taking members, cleaning device in the form of moving net-type belt, conveyor for delivering dirty ballast, conveyor for discharging crushed-stone, collector for contaminants, rigid guide members with uniformly curved end portion, shutter, and proportioning device. Operation of screening ballast is started with initial portion of net-type belt where ballast is subjected to maximal inertial loads in direction which is lateral with respect to preceding direction of movement. Screening out of large amounts of contaminants by initial horizontal portion of net-type belt ensures reduction of amount of contaminants subject to further screening out and this improves reliability and operating efficiency of crushed-stone cleaning machine.
