BALLAST CLEANER Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: railway transport; permanent way; ballast cleaning at track repair. SUBSTANCE: ballast cleaner has frame resting on running bogies and the following devices mounted on frame: cleaning device and device for cutting out and transportation on ballast made in form of endless chain with cutting members. Links of chain are interconnected for turning around horizontal axes. Chain has rising and downtake sections arranged at both sides from longitudinal axis of cleaner at angle relative to horizontal and interconnected in lower portion by cross section which is placed under track skeleton when machine is operating. Rising and downtake sections of chain are interconnected in upper part by discharge section arranged in zone of cleaning device. Chain is oriented vertically. Cutting members are made in form of buckets secured on front part of chain in direction of machine operation. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of operation and quality of ballast cleaning. 2 cl, 6 dwg
