FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: source 1 of electromagnetic oscillations generates nonmodulated harmonic electromagnetic oscillations with wave length satisfying relation 0.001d < 0,001d<λ<100d < 100d, where d is maximum size of mobile members, λ is pulse electromagnetic signal which frequency F of pulse repetition meets relation F>2NF>2Nfk, where N is number of mobile members of diagnosed mechanism; fk is maximum frequency of vibrations of mobile unit. Irradiating oscillations are emitted by antenna 2 in direction of diagnosed mechanism and its mobile unit. Signal reflected from object is received by receiver 5 of electromagnetic oscillations within frequency band , where C is velocity of light; fk is maximum frequency of vibrations of mobile unit. Registered vibrations are subjected to functional conversion in spectrum analyzer 8. Unit 9 determines diagnostic parameter of technical state of mechanism which is compared in unit 10 with its standard value coming from unit 11.
