FIELD: color cathode-ray tubes. SUBSTANCE: electron gun has a number of electrodes spaced apart from cathodes towards longitudinal axis of gun. These electrodes form at least beam shaping zone and main focusing lens system on propagation path of three electron guns (one central and two side ones). Each electrode has three coplanar apertures for passing three electron beams. Beam shaping zone includes cathodes and three electrodes G1, G2, G3 arranged in tandem. Novelty is that electrode G2 has two linear projections on either side of coplanar apertures. These projections are parallel to coplanar direction of apertures and protrude in direction parallel to longitudinal axis of gun; they are located behind aperture part of electrode G3 and cover this part of electrode. Side of electrode G3 facing electrode G2 has two linear troughs on either side of coplanar apertures. These troughs are located in close proximity of projections of electrode G2; shape of trough concavity fits convexity of projections.
