FIELD: medicine, surgical ophthalmology. SUBSTANCE: before cutting a pterygium from the top to a body a conjunctival fragment should be developed with its basis oriented towards a corner of an eye. After pterygium dissection is over a defect should be covered by a developed fragment, at the same time its limbic edge should be folded under inwards, and fixation is conducted with the help of vertical P-shaped sutures. EFFECT: higher efficiency to achieve satisfactory cosmetic results due to keeping a conjunctiva and prevent the chance of relapses due to forming a barrier made of an own conjunctiva.
