FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, in particular, blast-furnace process; may be used in designing, construction and reconditioning of blast furnaces. SUBSTANCE: cast house has supporting columns carrying cast-house base. Cast house has level working surface, one or more main runners with metal case, multilayer lining including layer of cast or rammed refracting material and skimmer, transportation runners for iron and slag, discharging runners and ventilation system. Length of main runner amounts at least 0.5. Length of cast house along the axis of main runner. Width of internal profile of upper part of main runner equals 0.1-0.3 length of main runner. Inclination of a part of main runner adjacent to skimmer does not exceed 3% and length of this part of main runner amounts to 0.5 of its length. Main runner is located on individual foundation with free motion over it. Longitudinal ventilation apertures are located on both sides of main runner. EFFECT: increased service life of main runner; improved labor conditions on cast house and provided conditions for mechanization of work. 10 cl, 6 dwg
