FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: vanadium cast iron is blown through by oxygen in converter in compliance with vanadium slag production method, after which cooling- oxidative agent is added consisting of dross (88-93 wt %) and flux (7-12 wt %), the latter being composed of Al, Fe, Na, K, Ca, Mg, Ti, Mn, and P oxides. Adding flux increases recovery of vanadium from cast iron into slag and from slag into industrial-grade vanadium pentoxide. Method can be applied at ferrous metallurgy enterprises producing vanadium slag that may be processed at chemical vanadium pentoxide production enterprises. EFFECT: increased yield of recovered vanadium. 1 tbl
