FIELD: diamond sintered materials and methods of their production. SUBSTANCE: diamond sintered material contains, vol.%: diamond, 50-99; binding phase, the balance. The latter consists of single or mixed phase from compound or mixture of at least one element selected from group including rare-earth elements of IIIB, IVA and VIB groups of periodic system, metals of group including iron, manganese, vanadium, alkali metals and alkali-earth metals with phosphorus compound or above-mentioned compound or mixture with element oxide. The method consists in mixing of powder of diamond or graphite with powder of binding phase, holding and sintering of powders mixture under pressure and temperature in diamond thermodynamically stable region. Diamond sintered material may be used for manufacture of tools and abrasive powder. EFFECT: higher resistance to breakage, corrosion and rear, increased heat stability and capability of being sintered at comparatively low pressure and temperature. 32 cl, 4 tbl
