FIELD: cemented metal tips and methods of their manufacture. SUBSTANCE: cemented metal tip has intermediate layer consisting of any material from group including cemented carbide of ferrous metals and metals with high melting points, the first and second layers consisting of hard cemented articles containing elbor or diamond. In this case the first and second layers are located so that they hold intermediate layer, respectively, from atop and from below and cemented to intermediate layer. Metal tip is made so that the front and rear surfaces form front cutting surfaces. All tops of cutting edges and rear cutting surfaces taking part in cutting, are formed on the first and second layers while intermediate layer is made so that it includes, both centers of gravity of front cutting surfaces and also center of gravity of entire metal tip. In addition, formed on front and rear cutting surfaces are coating layers which consists of nitride or element of group 4a, 5a or 6a of the Periodic System of elements. EFFECT: provision of manufacture of cemented metal tip featuring high stability and highly economical from the point of view of production costs. 15 cl, 28 dwg, 9 tbl
