METHOD FOR DETECTION OF ADDITIONAL DIGITAL INFORMATION IN DIGITAL COMMUNICATION CHANNEL WITH PULSE-CODE MODULATION Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: communication. SUBSTANCE: method involves input of information from normal analog user or high-speed digital information from user in addition to analog information into digital communication channel with pulse- code modulation so that said channel contains both analog information and complementing additional digital information. This compression is achieved by input of additional digital information in pauses of information transmission by normal analog user without converting information transmission of this transmission system. Detection of additional digital information in pauses of analog information in digital communication channel with pulse-code modulation is achieved by means of additional control channel. This is achieved by periodic generation of signal in pauses of analog information transmission through digital communication channel with pulse-code modulation. This results in possibility of detection of additional control channel which is medium for exchange of acknowledgments of readiness for transmission-receiving information between terminals or other signals. Asynchronous operations of terminals and digital communication channel with pulse-code modulation is compensated by use of symbol combinations in additional control channel. Additional information for transmission may include data from computers, computer networks, terminals and so on.
