FIELD: separation of liquid media in any industry. SUBSTANCE: diaphragm apparatus consists of modules connected in series and provided with tubular metal diaphragms; perforated plates having holes with bent edges are mounted between modules; they form lobes with bevelled edges bent in helical line. Perforated plates are located between modules in alternating order with single gaskets whose diameter exceeds diameter of holes of tubular diaphragms; gaskets have passages for flow of liquid from one tube to another. Covers of apparatus are provided with partitions dividing the interior of cover into parts; ends of partitions are received by slots provided in tube sheets. Liquid to be separated is fed to apparatus under excessive pressure. Part of liquid flow adjoining inner surface of tube is subjected to action of lobes at inlet of porous metal tube which is set it in rotary motion making it intensively wash inner surface of tube. Then flow runs in succession through modules and is discharged from apparatus. Part of liquid flows through porous metal diaphragms and enters interior of apparatus housing where it flows down and is discharged through branch pipe. EFFECT: enhanced intensity of separation process due to continuous cleaning of inner surface of diaphragm. 4 cl, 6 dwg
