FIELD: chemical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves counterflow contact of gas (steam) and fluid (granulated material) flows and splitting the gas (steam) flow into parts. One of the gas (steam) flow parts is bypassed one or several stages of contact and then is mixed with the main flow. The process of flow splitting and mixing is repeated more than once through the apparatus height. Contact devices which have high flow capacity are mounted between the points of flow mixing and following splitting of the flows. Additional bypass flows may be organized in zones embracing the points of flow mixing and following splitting. EFFECT: improved quality. 2 cl, 3 dwg
