FIELD: manufacture of heat and sound insulating articles, mainly, for construction industry, transportation means and heat and sound insulation of industrial equipment. SUBSTANCE: method includes fiber stretching for a prolonged time interval up to attaining critical viscosity of material of melt particles due to introduction of heat carrier to hollow of jet cone of energy carrier forming the fiber. Simultaneously, formation of vacuum which swirls the jet cone is excluded to promote uniform precipitation of fiber and formation of mat equal to closeness. The device for embodiment of the offered method has melting unit, tray, centrifuge, collector for supply of energy carrier and precipitation chamber. The device has heat carrier pipe running through hollow shaft of centrifuge. Secured to pipe end is heat carrier sprayer nozzle. EFFECT: higher quality of fiber due to optimization of fiber length. 2 cl, 2 dwg
