FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: plant is designed for production of mineral fibres from silicate melt for cotton wool manufacturing. Plant contains smelter for melting, fibre spinner and DC power source. Between smelter and fibre spinner, there is water-cooled funnel coaxial to smelter tap hole. The funnel is connected to negative pole of DC power source. The case of fibre spinner is earthed and connected to positive pole of a source of power supplies of DC power source. When power source is switched, current starts to flow in melted stream of melt and heats it up to required temperature thus providing required melt viscosity.
EFFECT: provided uniform melt viscosity due to constant temperature including all the stages of fibre formation.
