FIELD: metal structures mainly in construction. SUBSTANCE: stack of metal members to be connected is punched by shooting-off the punch together with rivet-bush at supporting the stack by massive stop; rivet-bush is arranged in hole thus formed, after which solid rod is pressed in central hole of rivet-bush by opposite shot keeping the stack of members being connected from opposite side with the rivet inserted deforming the rivet from the inside and locating the members relative to one another. Device for realization of this method includes rivet-bush with one-sided shoulder and central hole where tail of pointed punch made from solid material is fitted and solid rod with head whose diameter exceeds diameter of central hole of rivet-bush by 3 to 5 percent. Diameter of larger section of punch exceeds outer diameter or rivet-bush by 10 percent. EFFECT: increased punching capacity; enhanced reliability and reduced labour consumption. 3 cl, 2 dwg
