FIELD: manufacture of chemical and oil machinery; internal components of heat-mass-transfer apparatuses for bringing phases in contact and separation of dropping liquid from light phase and also trapping of dropping liquid and coagulation of mists in gas-liquid separators. SUBSTANCE: packing has parallel string and members for fixing string ends. Novelty consists in that members for string fixing are made in the form of perforated plates or screen limiting zone of contact and phase separation from top and bottom, and strings are made in the form of flexible rods whose ends are bent. Plates are fixed at maximum distance by means of spacer stops. The method for manufacture of offered packing is distinguished by the fact that rods are installed into coinciding holes of plates with their subsequent moving apart and installation of spacer stops.
