FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves driving carriage with article and performing working operations by different tools. Carriage has feeler mechanism and sliders, cooperating with constructional members of automatic line, and controls required operations. Article is worked in direction coinciding with transporting direction by moving article relative to fixed tool, and in direction different from transporting direction by providing coinciding for predetermined time interval of transporting motion of article and process motions of tool movable in synchronism with article, with mentioned motions being effectuated independently. EFFECT: increased efficiency by continuous mode of operation.
