FIELD: petrochemical synthesis. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sulfuric acid alkylation process to produce high-octane motor fuel additives. Selectivity of alkylation can be considerably increased, consumption of sulfuric acid reduced (by 30-40%), and induction period eliminated, when sulfuric acid is supplemented by 5-10 wt % sulfolane. Process is carried out in flow reactor within temperature range 0-10 C, at pressure providing liquid state of reactants, catalyst/hydrocarbon volume ratio about 1:1, and olefin volume rate 0.2-0.3 h-1. Under indicated conditions, trimethylpentane content in alkylate is 1.2-1.3 times increased and, correspondingly, octane number increases by 4-5 points. Duration of induction period needed to develop sulfuric acid is reduced by a factor 50 to 100. Simultaneously, complete and instantaneous segregation of acid-hydrocarbon emulsion formed in reactor occurs. EFFECT: enhanced process efficiency. 1 tbl
