FIELD: petrochemistry. SUBSTANCE: isobutane is alkylated with gasoline fraction resulting from retarded coking process in the presence of sulfuric acid at 5-10 C, pressure of 1.50-1.75 atm, isobutane to gasoline fraction volumetric ratio of 1:1, isobutane to olefins ratio of 1.5-2.0:1 for 20 min. Sulfuric acid with concentration of 91-97 wt % is used at sulfuric acid to hydrocarbons ratio of 1: 1. Prior to being admitted into reaction zone, isobutane is premixed with sulfuric acid. The method makes it possible to increase yield of the desired product and to simplify process technology. EFFECT: more efficient preparation method. 2 tbl
