FIELD: methods and devices for processing of materials (wastes, middlings) containing various metals (lead, zinc, tin and others) and carbon, and also for processing of wastes of other industries. SUBSTANCE: method includes loading of lead-containing materials into furnace which incorporates shaft with ports and hearth, burners located in shaft lower part, and lances located above burners. Lances are installed at a distance from hearth up to their axes amounting to 8.0-16.0 distances from hearth to burners axis. Carbon-containing wastes are charged into furnace through the same loading units. Melt is bubbled with fuel combustion products flowing from burners with air consumption coefficient α = 1.0-1.2. Combustion of carbon-containing wastes above melt bath is effected by supply of air through lances. In so doing, ratio of heat quantity liberated by high-temperature fuel combustion products to heat quantity liberated by fired carbon-containing wastes is within (1:0.3)-(1:0.8). Residual combustion materials are finely fired in upper part of furnace shaft, including its expanding part by natural suction of air and/or due to its supply through side and upper vertical lances-tubes. Off-gases including also dusts-sublimates (mainly, desired metal: lead, partially, zinc, tin and others) are passed through gas duct and further on, to system of dust-gas collecting system. Melt accumulated in furnace, as soon as bath is filled, is discharged into settling vessel for separation into slag and matte.
