FIELD: foundry, namely, processes for separating slag from metal in stopper ladle at termination of metal casting to molds. SUBSTANCE: regular-shaped refractory material with density 3-4 g/cm3 is placed onto surface of melt metal in stopper ladle. Floating refractory material is arranged under slag layer and at the end of metal casting separates slag preventing its penetration into mold. The most optimal shape of refractory material is sphere.
