FIELD: mechanical engineering in manufacture of spot-welding machines. SUBSTANCE: cylindrical head with a rough draft for back embossing punch is formed on the upper part of measured blank in the process of its sizing. The working part of electrode is formed on its lower part by direct embossing. Plastic deformation of material in the area of electrode working part is provided in the process of direct embossing, with the degree of deformation being not lower than 25%. Formation of cooling channel is accomplished by back embossing of a blind hole in the cylindrical head and cold drawing with ioning of the cylindrical head wall. Electrode mounting cone is formed by reduction of ironed wall of cylindrical head. At formation of mounting cone a cone-shaped section is formed in the upper part of the cooling channel.
