FIELD: railway transport; self-contained power supply of train passenger cars. SUBSTANCE: generator has housing with end flange and stiffening ribs, outer stator with three-phase winding and terminals in terminal box. Housing and intermediate flange are rigidly connected coaxially with outer end face of wheelset axle box. Generator rotor is of two-piece design, i.e. outer and inner cores with squirrel cage short circuited windings are rigidly installed on common hollow shaft. Both cores are made up of electrical steel laminations. Conical shaft has internal bore for fitting onto adapter nut. Shaft is made of structural steel in form of hollow cylinder. Additional inner stator with core, three phase winding and leads to common terminals of generator is installed inside rotor on core rigidly secured in center to inner side of outer cover. With car running, generator is self-excited by residual magnetic flux of rotor and induces electric currents in windings of external and internal stators, currents being summed up on generator terminals, thus increasing its output power. Cooling is provided by surface flow of air with train running. EFFECT: improved mass and dimensional characteristics. 2 dwg
