FIELD: composite materials. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to composites applicable in aircraft, space technics, and mechanical engineering. Invention aims at manufacturing pore-free high-strength material, resistant to corrosive media at normal and elevated temperatures, and exhibiting heat and wear resistance. Composite of invention is provided with low-carbon or alloyed-steel matrix and reinforced by 0.06-mm molybdenum wire, linkage between reinforcing wire and matrix being provided by diffusion titanium layer which is prepared in bath with low-melting melt of lead-bismuth eutectic. Diffusion saturation with titanium is performed in bath containing 97-99% Pb-Bi eutectic and 1- 3% Ti. Thickness of diffusion layer does not exceed diameter of reinforcing wire and is calculated from formulas empirically obtained for materials with low-carbon and alloyed-steel matrixes.
