FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: method relates to the gas-phase polymerization of ethylene and ethylene mixtures with α-olefins α=CHR in the presence of high-active catalyst containing titanium compound that has a single Ti-halide bond applied on magnesium dichloride as an active form. The indicated method involves the following stages: (a) interaction of ethylene or ethylene mixtures with CH₂-olefins to synthesized polymer at amount about 5 g/g solid component increased to amount corresponding to about 10% yield of the end catalyst amount; (b) polymerization of ethylene or ethylene mixtures with α-olefins in gaseous phase in the presence of the system prepolymer/catalyst described in the point (b), and under condition of maintenance of alkane molar concentration in the gaseous phase 20-90% with respect to the total gas amount.
