FIELD: manufacture of engines; internal combustion engines working on liquid fuels. SUBSTANCE: method of preparation of fuel is based on evaporation and mixing of fuel with air at ratio below low limit of ignition of light fractions of hydrocarbon fuel in evaporating chamber communicated with atmosphere followed by treatment of this mixture in reactor with developed heated catalytically active surface whose temperature is maintained at level required for effective course of reaction of incomplete oxidation of hydrocarbons. Walls of reaction volume are made from material at higher electrical resistance and may be used as element for additional electric heating of reactor. Reaction products are additionally mixed with air and are fed to inlet manifold of engine. Liquid distillation is diluted with "fresh" fuel in volume sufficient for reduction of heterogeneity of composition and temperature arising in course of draining liquid residual into fuel main to level excluding self-excited oscillations during operation of engine.
