FIELD: control of speed of motors of centrifugal hydraulic pumps. SUBSTANCE: method consists in forming rectified and filtered voltage which is converted into three-phase voltage by means of inverter for excitation of motor. Frequency and sequence of changing-over the inverter switches are set by means of starting pulses of control unit; periodic shunting of inverter is effected by means of shunting switch. Pulse-duration modulation of motor excitation is effected by means of excitation switch connected to inverter supply line and switching the supply circuit of inverter by signals of control unit in synchronism with inverter switches; shunting of inverter is effected at intervals between switching-on periods of excitation switch.
