FIELD: TV equipment. SUBSTANCE: method involves illumination of scanned surface by means of pulse light source during frame blanking pulse in current frame. Duration of pulse light conforms to condition that blur of charge pattern is less than threshold level during scanning of inner surface of nuclear reactor jacket at given speed. Then method involves receiving light which is reflected from scanned surface, generation of charge pattern on vidicon target array, reading it using line scanning and transmission to storage unit after processing. In addition method involves illumination of vidicon target array by additional light source during frame blanking pulse. TV camera, which implements said method, is equipped with pulse source for illumination of vidicon target array, control unit which is connected to pulse illumination source, clock oscillator which is connected to control unit which is connected to storage unit.
