FIELD: television engineering; television cameras viewing under poor light conditions.

SUBSTANCE: proposed television camera that incorporates provision for automatic expansion of absolute contrast of transmitted images, that is for enhanced video-signal ratio from most bright to most dark part of objects being viewed, has lens 1, CCD matrix 2, pulse shaper 3, five level converters 4 through 8, two video amplifiers 9, 10, phase shaper 12, video signal switching unit 13, and. comparator 11. Newly introduced in CCD matrix are charge-coupled second storage section, second output register, and second charge-to-voltage conversion unit. So, new CCD matrix has accumulation section 2-1, two storage sections 2-2, 2-6, two output registers 2-3, 2-7, two charge-to-voltage conversion units 2-4, 2-8, and isolating electrode 2-5.

EFFECT: provision for automatic expansion of scene illumination dynamic range under poor illumination (black light) conditions.
