FIELD: transport engineering; DC traction drives. SUBSTANCE: electric drive has DC traction motor with series connected voltage regulator. Inverter is used as voltage regulator. Output of inverter is connected to supply mains through step-up transformer, ac regulator, rectifier and ripple LC filter. To increase current and voltage control range of motor, transformer with controlled transformation ratio is used. Control of motor power at starting and accelerating and control of regenerated energy flow delivered to supply mains under electrodynamic braking conditions are provided by ac regulator. EFFECT: provision of operating conditions at which traction motor current at regeneration is delivered into supply mains continuously, not by pulses, which increases efficiency at transmission of regenerated energy. 3 cl, 1 dwg
