FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: proposed traction drive comprises rectifier-inverter converter (RCC) with its positive-potential output terminal connected to smoothing reactor, traction motor armature winding and resistor braking switch tumbler terminal. Ballast resistor output is connected to RCC positive-potential output terminal. Excitation winding (EW) has its both terminals connected to NC contact groups of reversers. Fixed NC contacts of both reverser contact groups are connected to static exciter. The latter has its negative-potential terminal connected to reverser second contact group and positive-potential terminal connected to first reverser contact group and to RCC positive-potential output terminal. Conductive bridge (CD) is connected in series with EW. CD is shunted by NC contact and connected to positive-potential output terminal of the exciter. Note here that the latter is shunted by NC contact.
EFFECT: operation with independent excitation in traction and recovery conditions, switching over operating conditions with traction force loss.
