FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: copper powder with alloying additives, for instance, powder of titanium or aluminum is subjected to mechanical alloying in attritor. Added to copper powder with alloying additives is solid lubricant in the form of graphite powder. Produced granules are mixed for 5-10 min in mixer with powder of getter - absorbent of moisture and gases and playing role of reducer of excessive copper oxides. Getter is used in the form of powder of titanium hydride (TiH2) in the amount of 0.5-1.0 wt. %. After mixing, powder mixture is subjected to cold compaction into briquettes with metal fittings at pressure of 0.7-0.8 MPa. Produced briquettes with density of more than 80% of the theoretical value are heated at 820-900 C for 30-60 min. Briquettes in working space are covered with container when heated. Containers are made in the form of sleeves with clearances between briquette and internal space of sleeve equalling 5-10 mm in diameter and 10-15 mm in height. For compaction of heated material, briquette is subjected to hot deformation, for instance, to extrusion in metal fitting heated up to 400-420 C.
