FIELD: oil production industry. SUBSTANCE: this can be used for alternate lifting of oil and water from well. According to method, in recovering oil after separation of watered oil at bottom hole into oil and water, pumping out is initiated starting with water, and water pumping out is periodically alternated with pumping out oil. Prior to withdrawing water, water flow velocity is reduced and direction of water flow is changed to opposite. Before pumping out oil, direction of oil flow is changed to opposite. Oil is taken for pumping out above point where pumping out is started, and water is taken for pumping out below point where pumping out is started. Changing direction of oil flow to opposite is carried out at same level where water is taken for pumping out. Device for realizing aforesaid method has inlet unit of well pump. Inlet unit incorporates U-shape feed pipe connection and settling chamber. Partly located in settling chamber is U-shape feed pipe connection which is made up of short and long sections. End of short section is located in settling chamber near inlet to adapter of receiving part of well pump. End of long section of U-shape feed pipe is brought beyond settling chamber and is located above inlet to adapter. Settling chamber is connected with adapter and has outlet passage in lower part of flow cross-sectional area which is less than flow cross-sectional area of settling chamber. Aforesaid method and device ensure reliable separation of oil and water. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 4 cl, 1 dwg
