FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: this can be used in development of placer deposits and for dumping operations. According to method, dumping operations include filling of rock cut-out spaces, concentric location of concentration tailings in dump with orientation of small-size fraction and medium-size fraction in upper courses of dump. Filling of rock cut-out zones is effected with pebble fraction, formation of dump is carried out by placing concentric rows of pebble fraction with alternate filling of intermediate zone in lower part with medium-size sand-clay refuse fraction coming from sluice boxes. Located in upper part of intermediate zone is small-size sand-clay refuse fraction coming from jigging machines. Device for making dumps has following components: dehydrator, pans for receiving concentration tailings and pan for distribution of concentration tailings, stockpiling machine having conveyor for delivery of pebble fraction and swinging unit drive, collector of small-size sand-clay refuse fraction. Stockpiling machine is provided with additional pans and conveyors for separate delivery of medium-size sand-clay refuse fraction and small-size sand-clay refuse fraction and can be oriented in any direction due to inclusion of displacement sector. Application of aforesaid method and device, increases efficiency of dumping operations, and also reduces negative influence of mining activities on natural environment.
