FIELD: refrigerating engineering; propellant tanks used in aeronautical engineering. SUBSTANCE: heat-insulated cryogenic tank used for storage of cryogenic fluids has hermetic inner and outer envelopes with evacuated cavity between them; insulation material resistant to pressure is placed between these envelopes. Insulation material consists of separated evacuated stacks of heat-insulating layers placed in hermetic envelope. Stacks are located on cylindrical surface of tank and their side bevelled faces are in contact with faces of adjacent stacks. Interlayer made from gas-permeable adsorbing material is laid between envelope or wall and stacks on side of cryogenic propellant. This interlayer may be connected with evacuating device by means of pipe line. EFFECT: reduced mass of tank; enhanced operational reliability and increased service life. 6 cl, 3 dwg
