FIELD: internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: pneumatic starter has planetary reduction gear. Bushing is mounted on shaft between drive gear and toothed coupling of assembly which engages gears of pneumatic starter and engine to be started. Roller-shaped radial thrust bearing positioned in body interacts with external surface of bushing which has high strength for contact stresses. When compressed air is supplied from source drive gear is preliminarily engaged with gear mounted on shaft of engine being started by actuating the starting valve. After actuating the starting valve, pneumatic engine starts operating. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 5 cl, 7 dwg
