BULLETPROOF PANEL Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: individual and transport means of protection from small-arms bullets. SUBSTANCE: panel has plates with surface rebounding bullets and installed on supports, damper and body. Supports have rigidity of not less than 6•10⁵ nm/kg secured in slots of dampers with fixing material and coming in contact with body. Dampers are located between body and plates. The latter with their middle part are installed on supports. Sum of height and width of supports amounts to 0.8-1.3 of plate width, slot depths equalling 0.8-0.9 of support height. Plate thickness equals damper double thickness and do not exceed four thicknesses of body. Width and length of plates amounts to 5-15 of their thicknesses. Device allows increase of protective properties with shooting with 7.62 mm bullets B-32 weighing 7.9-10.4 g. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 dwg
