FIELD: armored constructions that can be used in individual means of protection and on transport. SUBSTANCE: construction has a ceramic cover plate, backing plate adjoining it and on external reflecting member notable for the fact that it also comprises a protective layer furnished with ridges bearing the backing plate, and the reflecting member has a funnel, whose opening faces the ceramic plate, the dimensions of the reflecting member are commensurable with the dimensions of the ceramic cover plate. The thickness of the ceramic cover plate is selected depending on the supposed geometric dimensions of subcaliber bullet and its velocity. The protective layer may be made in the form of a multilayer stack. The backing plate may also be made as a multilayer stack. In addition, hinges may be installed at the edges of the ceramic cover plate. The cover plate stiffness may vary from the center to the edges: the minimum stiffness - in the center, the maximum one - in the area of the hinges. Protective properties are enhanced at fire by subcaliber bullets at a velocity up to 1000 m/s and higher, impact momentum is reduced to permissible values. The thickness of the armored construction does not exceed 15 to 20 mm at a surface density of not more than 40 kg/sq. m. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 2 dwg, 1 ex
