FIELD: armor compositions that can be used in individual and transport means of protection against effect of small arms bullets. SUBSTANCE: armor-protection component uses a ceramic layer installed on a backing. Hinges are installed along edges. Backing stiffness varies from center to edges, lowest stiffness is in center and highest one - in area of hinges. Friable layer of strong material is introduced between ceramic layer and backing. Friable layer may be made of abrasive powder or of separate threads of composite, it may also be made integral with backing. Separate threads of composite of friable layer may be specially oriented.
