FIELD: forestry. SUBSTANCE: method involves dividing felling area into apiaries 5; forming corridors 6; felling trees on strips 7 adjoining to corridors 6 and on strips 8 spaced from corridors 6; logging lumber from remote strip of apiary in the direction of corridor 6 by reducing lumber by means of cable loop; connecting free end of cable with pulling vehicle equipped with hydraulic manipulator. Logging is performed by gripping cable by means of hydraulic manipulator. Pulling vehicle is movable along corridor 6. Width of apiaries is set in accordance with formula: S ≥ B(max) + (L - l), where S is width of apiary; B(max) is maximum predetermined height of removal of stock of trees adjacent to remote strip boundary opposite to boundary adjoining to corridor 6, m; L is maximum hydraulic manipulator arm length, m; l is distance between axis of revolution of hydraulic manipulator on pulling vehicle and boundary of corridor with adjoining strip, m. EFFECT: increased efficiency by intensified removal of trees in apiaries and reduced power consumption. 3 dwg
