FIELD: agriculture, in particular, animal farming. SUBSTANCE: method involves positioning hay bales in hay storage places by means of portable ramp; slipping filled feeder by tractor or any other vehicle on yard. Apparatus has drum mounted on supports for rotation and provided with carcass formed by pipes and large-cell grid tightened along carcass perimeter. Apparatus is further provided with pallets with heat-insulating cover, skids and protective housing. Pallets are secured on supports and arranged along drum perimeter in hay spilling areas. Skids are disposed under drum supports. Protective housing is rigidly fixed to supports. Cells of drum end walls have size of 100x100 mm. EFFECT: increased efficiency by providing protection from precipitations, elimination of injure to animals, reduced feed loss by usage of special pallets. 3 cl, 3 dwg
