METHOD OF AND DEVICE FOR MOUNTING AND FASTENING OF RAILWAY CAR WHEELSETS AND BOGIES ON RAILWAY VEHICLE PLATFORM Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: railway transport; mounting and fastening of railway car wheelsets and bogies on open rolling stock furnished with special device and on other transport vehicles. SUBSTANCE: wheelsets are installed in sequence into V-shaped cradles on generating surfaces of wheel rims so that wheelset axes are square to longitudinal axis of platform, wheelsets are displaced in turn to opposite sides of platform and limiting of cross displacement of wheelsets is provided by external end faces of wheel rims. Longitudinal displacement of wheelsets is provided by fixing wheelset axles in their middle. Device for implementing proposed method has frame installed on vehicle platform and provided with V-shaped cradles and fastening members installed in tandem square to platform axis. Fastening members are made in form of re-placeable T-shaped screw grips. Grip screw has snap hook on its end. Yokes for snap hook are secured between cradles. Longitudinal beams of frame are installed symmetrically relative to longitudinal axis of platform. Beam-to-beam distance exceeds distance between external end faces of wheel rims by width of wheel rim. Cradle pitch is made so that distance between bogie wheelsets is multiple of pitch. Proposed invention makes it possible to mount and fasten in one device both wheelsets and bogies of railway cars.
