FIELD: railway transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport and is intended for arrangement, fastening, transportation of railway wheel pairs on vehicles, as well as storage and sorting of railway wheel pairs in storage areas. Lodgement (1) for transportation and storage of railway wheel pairs (6) comprises a pair of spaced apart symmetrical support elements (2) and structural elements geometrically repeating the shape of the rim of the railway wheel. Support elements are made in the form of solid moulded structures made of porous elastic non-metallic material with high coefficient of friction. Lodgement is made with possibility of its installation directly on platform of vehicle for transportation of wheel pairs. Structural elements, geometrically repeating the shape of the rim of the railway wheel, are made in a groove located on the upper surface of the support element, having a radial stepped geometrical profile of complex shape. In profile of the recess there is a projection geometrically repeating the shape of the brake shoe, or two symmetrical projections geometrically repeating the shape of the brake shoe.

EFFECT: invention reduces labour intensity of loading and installation of wheel pairs on vehicle platform, provides reliability of wheel pair fixation, spark safety, reduces noise generation, vibrations, excludes impact loads and collisions during installation and transportation of wheel pairs.
