FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy, production of aluminum. SUBSTANCE: anode pin of aluminum electrolyzer includes aluminum rod and steel bar with head. The latter is sectional made of two rigidly interjoined parts, upper and lower. Upper part has core from metal with increased conductance relative to steel. Lower part of bar makes up to half to two thirds of steel part. Core has recess in lower part and lower of bar axial protrusion corresponding to it. Bimetal insert is placed between core and sectional parts of bar. Process of manufacture of anode pin involves placement of core into space of upper sectional part of bar which lower butt is made fast to parts of bar, welding of these parts. Butt of core is joined to sectional parts of bar by means of pressure generated by explosive charge or press. EFFECT: reduced consumption of electric energy, prolonged service life of anode pin.
