FIELD: petrochemical syntheses. SUBSTANCE: aromatic hydrocarbons are produced by bringing light-hydrocarbon material including olefins and paraffins into contact with zeolite catalyst in adiabatic fixed-bed reactor so inducing catalytic cyclization of hydrocarbons. Reaction is carried out under conditions satisfying following requirements: (1) zeolite catalyst exhibits initial catalytic activity 0.2 S-1 or higher in terms of rate constant of the initial phase of the first-order n- hexane decomposition reaction catalyzed by zeolite catalyst and measured at 500 C and atmosphere pressure; (2) catalyst bed temperature ranges from 450 to 650 C; (3) temperature is distributed throughout catalyst bed from bed inlet to bed outlet and has at least one maximum; (4) catalyst bed outlet temperature lies within the range ± 40 C with regard to catalyst bed inlet temperature.
