FIELD: pipe line transport; oil production and oil refining. SUBSTANCE: transportation of viscous products together with gas after protracted stoppage may be started again through separation of volume of viscous product along length of pipeline into separate sections of rated length by means of gas locks of rated volume; gas locks are formed due to gravitational separation of viscous product and gas; pipe line for transportation of viscous products has traps in form of bypasses or blind chambers of any form communicating with pipe line; volume of gas traps is determined by upper generatrix of section of pipe line. According to other version, gas trap may be made in form of section of pipe line in form of П-shaped, Л-shaped or arc-shaped bellows oriented preliminarily in vertical plane; volume of such gas trap is determined by lower generatrix of pipe line section.
