FIELD: equipment for making wire gauze. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes mechanism for feeding, tensioning and guiding wires, drawing and shaping drums, units for twisting wires with twisting members in the form of gear wheels driven by means of common chain transmission. Gear wheels are provided with two inclined ducts whose bases are arranged under diametrical axis of wheels and whose upper portions pass along recesses between wheel teeth spaced one from another at least by 1.5 pitch. Apparatus includes means for limiting twisting zone and mechanism for winding ready gauze. Frame has wedges whose number is equal to that of twisting units and moves along guides inclined relative to it. Diagonal motion of frame provides reliable entry of its wedges between wires and there is no need for operator to periodically correct motion direction of wires for placing them to binding units. In the result efficiency of apparatus is increased by 10-15%. EFFECT: automated process of binding wire gauze. 6 dwg
