FIELD: driving sucker rod well pumps for pumping out oil in offshore oil fields. SUBSTANCE: pumping unit has drive and balancing system made in form of hollow reservoir kinematically linked with rod carrier bar and placed in fluid medium. Hollow reservoir has holes for flow of fluid medium inside and outside; it is connected with drive by means of pipe line; drive is made in form of combustion chamber fitted with exhaust valve and control system. In land fields, two reservoirs are connected by means of cross-member and are located in open reservoirs filled with liquid. Rod carrier bas is connected to cross-member.
