STEAM BOILER EMERGENCY GOVERNOR Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: power engineering; protection of steam boilers against damage in case of discontinuation of boiler water supply. SUBSTANCE: emergency governor includes set of hollow coaxial horizontal cylinders: outer, inner and intermediate cylinders located under reservoir and cutout valve. On one side outer cavity of cylinder set is brought in communication with closed reservoir at level of its lower edge by means of intake pipe line; on other side, it is brought in communication with steam-end-water drum at level of its lower edge by means of drain pipe line. Inner and intermediate cavities of set are brought in communication (by means of overflow pipe lines) either with steam-and-water drum at level slightly exceeding shear of downtake pipes of with closed reservoir at level of its upper edge. Cavity under valve is brought in communication (by means of pipe lines) with indicator device and mechanism discontinuing the fuel delivery to burners. EFFECT: enhanced reliability and efficiency; sage operation of boiler. 2 cl, 2 dwg
