FIELD: radiolocation. SUBSTANCE: method refers to measuring the distance to secondary radiation source with nonlinear conversion of probing signal. Given method may be used if evident kind of radiolocation equation is known. Spatial derivative of equation is unambiguously associated with rage to nonlinearly-scattering object. Spatial derivative is found by measuring the scattered signal intensity at two points positioned near each other. In addition, index of exponential function coupling the intensities of scattered and probing signals is determined experimentally. It enables determination of obvious kind of radiolocation equation for nonlinearly-scattering object at preset laws of spatial distribution of probing and scattered signal intensities.
